FAQ

Why should we use Hound Butler’s Services?

  • Hound Butler offers the luxury of enjoying your yard and pets without the hassle of doing all the unpleasant dirty work. We realize that your time is the most valuable resource.
  • We take pride in our professional service and offer a refund if you are not fully satisfied.
  • Pet waste can contain many types of harmful and dangerous bacteria, viruses and parasites. If pet waste is not carefully dealt with your family and pets can be susceptible to organisms such as E-coli, Salmonella, & Giardia.
  • The regular removal of pet waste is not only good for health but also for the environment. Rain and snow can wash your pet’s waste into the local waterway, inadvertently polluting our city.
  • Weekly cleanups keep your grass healthy and odors under control.
  • Every time you purchase a service from Hound Butler you are making a donation to the SPCA. By helping yourself you are also helping animals in need.
  • People as well as pets can unknowingly track waste into your home if it is not kept in check.
  • Hound Butler is Edmonton’s favorite pet waste removal service.

How often do you service?

Our primary service includes a once a week pickup schedule.

The service day will be dependant on where in the city you are located. For specific information on your neighborhood please contact us.

We also offer a one-time service. This service is primarily used for spring clean ups, moving time, and cleaning for special occasions such as wedding or BBQs.

Is there a contract to sign?

No contracts are required in order to set up service.

What if I am not satisfied with the service?
Your satisfaction is guaranteed If you are not completely satisfied with your service we will refund your money or pay for our competitors service.

Am I charged extra for the first visit?

A fee may be charged depending on what is required. First time clean-ups generally require more time and contain more waste.

To determine this we will ask you questions like:

  • How long since your yard was last cleaned?
  • How many dogs do you own?
  • How big is your yard?

Do I have to be at home when Hound Butler arrives?

You do not need to be home when Hound Butler is servicing your property. If you are around we would love to meet you and your pets and take the opportunity to address and special concerns you may have.

Do I need to put my dog on a leash or keep them inside?

It all depends on your dogs and how they react to strangers. The safety of your pets and our staff is our top priority. If someone from our team feels unsure or feels they are making your pet uncomfortable they will not enter the yard without discussing it with your first.

Where does all the pet waste go?

Whenever possible the pet waste is taken to a special facility where it is composted into fertilizer used by local farmers. When this is not possible the waste is properly disposed of in the city landfill.

How do I pay for the service?

Hound Butler accepts VISA, Mastercard, and American Express through our easy online payment option. If you prefer we can also take personal cheques and cash.  To make a payment please visit our Payment Page. Simply enter the amount you with to pay and then select the pay now button. You will be taken to our Paypal site where a credit card can be used to finish the transaction.

Every time we visit we will leave a door hanger on your door letting you know how many weeks of pre-paid service you have remaining. When your service runs out just place your payment in a discreet, easy to find location, on our next visit or simply pay online.

What happens in the winter or if  the weather is bad?

On some occasions the weather will not allow us to provide you with the best possible service. Heavy rain or snow makes it difficult to properly remove all of the pet waste.  In the winter we continue service but not during periods of extreme cold. If the weather dips below -18 degrees Celsius we instruct our staff to refrain from working in the cold.

In such an event we will try to inform you ahead of time if Hound Butler is not able to service you properly.  We will not charge you for that week’s service and credit your account. Service will resume the following week.
